Legal Issues

It is certainly possible to scatter a container of cremated remains in a park, on a beach or in some other place that holds special meaning for your family. However, there are certain legal restrictions or health laws that may affect the disposition of such material. We are completely familiar with these considerations, so please allow us to help you create a unique and appropriate scattering ceremony. We have developed a brochure for you to download, detailing the legal issues regarding scattering. Otherwise, please fill out our Contact Us form and we will send you a copy of this informative guide.

Floramorial

Floramorial™ is a whole new way of thinking about memorialization.

Cremation ash can now be used to grow trees and flowers. Floramorial™ soil was created to convert cremation ash into a planting medium to grow a decorative plant, bush or tree as a living memorial. Cremation ash is an inert, granular material like stone or sand that can now be transformed into plant food thanks to recent developments in horticultural science.

This is an exciting new answer to the question, "What should I do with the ashes?" Floramorial™ soil opens up a universe of floral species which can be used to commemorate the life of your loved one.

Eternal Ascent

Eternal Ascent is a unique and meaningful way to scatter a portion of your pet's cremated remains. A small portion of the remains are placed in a large biodegradable balloon, which may be released from a site, which has meaning to your family. The balloon will ascend to the heavens, where it will eventually burst and release the cremated remains to be scattered. Nelsen Family Funeral Services, Inc, parent of Loving Pets Crematory, is the exclusive provider of Eternal Ascent in Central Virginia.
